1. Acceptance
By installing, accessing, or using Portwood DocGen ("the Software"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
2. License
Portwood DocGen is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0. You may use, copy, modify, and distribute the Software freely under the terms of that license. The full license text is available at github.com/Portwood-Global-Solutions/Portwood-DocGen.
3. The software
Portwood DocGen is a document generation application that runs entirely within the Salesforce platform. It creates PDFs, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations from Salesforce records using templates with merge tags.
4. Pricing
The Software is provided completely free of charge with no user limits, template limits, or generation limits. All features are included for all users. There are no paid tiers.
5. Community
DocGen is a community-driven project. Feature requests, bug reports, and discussions are managed through the DocGen Slack community and GitHub Issues. The community helps shape the product roadmap.
6. Data and privacy
The Software runs entirely within your Salesforce org. We do not have access to your Salesforce records, templates, generated documents, or any other data inside your org. As a managed package publisher, Salesforce automatically provides us with limited subscriber information (org ID, org name, org type, install status) through the standard PackageSubscriber system object. This is a Salesforce platform feature that applies to all managed packages. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
7. No warranty
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement. In no event shall Portwood Global Solutions be liable for any claim, damages, or other liability arising from the use of the Software, including but not limited to data loss, service interruption, or document generation errors.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Portwood Global Solutions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from the use of the Software. Because the Software is provided free of charge, Portwood Global Solutions' total aggregate liability for any claims shall not exceed $100 USD.
9. Support
Community support is available via the DocGen Slack community and GitHub Issues. Professional implementation services, custom template design, and hands-on setup assistance are available from Portwood Global Solutions. Contact hello@portwoodglobalsolutions.com for details.
10. Slack community
Portwood Global Solutions operates a free Slack community channel for DocGen users. By joining the community channel, you agree to Slack's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Your messages and shared files are governed by Slack Technologies, Inc. Portwood Global Solutions moderates the community but is not responsible for content posted by other members.
11. Partner referrals
Portwood Global Solutions may recommend third-party Salesforce consulting partners for implementation services. These partners operate independently and are not employees or agents of Portwood Global Solutions. We may receive a referral fee from partners. Any engagement with a partner is a separate agreement between you and that partner.
12. Updates
Package updates are delivered through Salesforce's standard managed package upgrade process. We may release new versions at any time. You are not required to upgrade. We recommend keeping your installation current for security and feature improvements.
13. Intellectual property
The Software is open source under the Apache License 2.0. The Portwood DocGen name, Portwood Global Solutions name, and associated logos are trademarks of Portwood Global Solutions. The Apache License does not grant permission to use our trademarks.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Software at any time by uninstalling the package from your Salesforce org. We reserve the right to discontinue the Software, though we will provide reasonable notice before doing so.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Software after changes constitutes acceptance.
